A/N: I know I'm interrupting my Eyeless Jack x Reader, but I'm not entirely sure what's gonna go down with that. It may just be a lost cause that I'll have to pick back up later, because other than a lemon, I have no fucking idea what's gonna go down in that Hotel room. And I do want to throw something like that in there, just to give them a level of intimacy that can't really be achieved any other way. But then again, I SUCK AT LEMONS. So, in gist, I'm taking a break and writing this one!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
An infant lay in her crib one night. She hardly even stirred when the window to her bedroom was carefully slid open, and an intruder crept into the house.
About a minute later, screams erupted from down the hall. The parents of that infant were lost that day to a serial killer, who still, to this day, hides his secret away deep in the recesses of his mind. Unbeknownst to the child, she would be spared. The babe who was asleep in her crib began to sob at the sound of her parent's brutal murder, but no one heard her cries. Surrounded for miles by wilderness, the child's cries went unheard by so many human ears.
But the plea was not voiceless to a certain supernatural being in the area. A man without a face wandered the woods, careful not to get mud and dirt on his polka-dotted outfit. The cries echoed faintly in Splendorman's head, and he rushed to see who in the world it was wailing so. "There, there, child," he cooed to the baby, "Splendy's here, there's nothing to fear!" Splendorman hunched over in a room too small to accommodate his height. The killer entered the door, and stopped. Splendorman turned, listening to the man's mind. "You killed... her parents?" He said, voice getting low. The man shook, and Splendorman reached a long, spindly arm out to grab the man. "You made her cry? You fool! You are worse than anyone I've ever met! Making a helpless infant cry like this! You'll be punished!" and with that, Splendorman flicked his wrist and sent the man flying into the night.
The baby, meanwhile, had ceased her crying and reached for the bow tie around Splendorman's neck. He smiled, cradling her in his arms. She was so tiny, and fragile, and Splendorman knew just the creature to take care of the orphaned babe.
"Slenderman!" Splendorman called, rushing in the door of his brother's empty mansion.
"What is it, Splendorman?" Slenderman asked, annoyance leaking into his tone.
"I found this! A man killed her parents, and I couldn't just abandon her!" Splendy exclaimed with a grin.
"Well, why tell me?" He asked, still annoyed.
"She's not affected by Slender sickness!" Splendy bounced in anticipation. Slenderman looked the baby over. She reached for his tie, and he stood, keeping it just out of your reach.
"And?" Slenderman finally said. Splendy's mouth dropped open.
"You've always wanted to become a dad! C'mon! Brother, I can read your thoughts!" Splendy groaned in exasperation.
"Alright, fine," Slenderman relented, tentacles reaching out to cradle the child. Her eyes began to slowly drift shut, and she fell soundly asleep in the arms of the giant.
"Wait... where will she sleep? I didn't grab the crib..." Splendorman said, sheepishly rubbing the back of his neck. Slendorman sighed, reaching over to the couch and grabbing a few pillows.
"She can sleep with me for tonight, but in the morning we are going back for her things." Slenderman replied sternly, his brother nodding vigorously.
"Now, goodnight, brother. I'll see you tomorrow." Slenderman made his way up the long flight of stairs slowly. The pillows were propped up against the backboard of the king-sized bed that he slept in, but didn't completely occupy. The soft breathing of the tiny human made him smile, though his face didn't show it, and he patted her head softly. "Goodnight, child. I will see you soon."
~~(The Next Morning)~~
"Slenderman! I've got her things! And I've got another one!" Splendorman called up the stairs.
The child that the beings had acquired yesterday sat in a school-desk--the kind with the seat attached--propped up by some pillows and held in place with a ribbon. Slenderman teleported into the room, grabbed the food, and began quickly preparing it. The being set a plate of food down in front of the infant and brought a small spoon up to her lips. The child, previously sobbing from hunger, stopped wailing and happily consumed the carrot-puree-like-subtance happily. Some drool dribbled onto her bottom lip, and Slenderman grabbed a napkin and softly dabbed it away.
"Did you hear me?" Splendy asked as he entered the room.
"Yes, you got her things, thank you," Slenderman answered.
"Ah, but you didn't hear the last part. I got another one!" Splendorman held a boy, a little bit older, maybe, up to Slenderman.
"I've got my hands full with this one!" Slenderman hissed, trying not to raise his voice. Soft babbling came from the baby girl, and Slenderman carefully lifted another spoonful of food to her mouth, dabbing away yet again at the drool.
"He's not for you, silly! He's mine!" Splendorman hugged the baby gently. It looked at him, confused and wide-eyed, then giggled and reached for Splendorman's hat.
"You're going to be a father? Are you sure that's a good idea, brother?" Slenderman asked, hesitantly.
"Sure, why not?" Splendorman asked.
"Well, okay. I guess it's alright," Slenderman sighed.
"Oh, and I remembered to grab his stuff!" Splendorman said proudly.
"Okay, but you'll have to live here. It'll be easier that way, for us, and the children." Slenderman looked at his brother expectantly.
Splendorman seemed to vibrate with excitement, "I'll grab my stuff right away!"
